Condition and Service History

The machine is in very well-maintained condition and has been professionally serviced throughout its operating life. The available DMG MORI service history documents several targeted maintenance and repair measures on important machine components. These were not merely cosmetic works – a number of relevant components were renewed directly by DMG MORI, subsequently inspected, tested and the machine was returned to fully operational condition after each intervention.

Spindle / Spindle Rotor:

In 2022, following damage in the spindle area, the spindle rotor was replaced. The rotary union and rotor were then installed, the spindle was run in, M19 was adjusted, and tool-holder position and runout were checked. The through-spindle coolant system was tested and a tool clamping force of 27.6 kN was documented. Finally, a 3D Quickset test was carried out.

Z-Axis:

In March 2024, the worn Z-axis drive belt was replaced. At the same time, the Z-axis ball screw assembly was checked and found to be in proper condition. The subsequent functional test was completed successfully.

Rotary Union / Through-Spindle Coolant:

In April 2024, the rotary union was extensively serviced. Among other components, the shaft seal, O-ring, antistatic brush and both non-return valves of the through-spindle coolant system were replaced. Afterwards, the through-spindle coolant system and the tool clamping system were checked for leakage and documented as being in proper condition.

Electrical System / PROFIBUS:

In July 2024, a PROFIBUS fault was diagnosed. The affected BUS module and the associated power module were replaced. After the repair, no further fault was present and the final test run was completed successfully.
